Is Heavy Metal Toxicity Impacting Your Performance?

By  |  0 Comments

I work with some of the most high performing entrepreneurs and executives in the world and something I see far too often is high levels of heavy metal toxicity affecting these health participants focus, energy, ability to lose weight, digestive issues and more!

It’s actually a far too common cause of many unresolved chronic health issues and is one of the first things to test for if you are experiencing adrenal issues or fatigue.

So what is heavy metal toxicity?

Heavy metals like lead, cadmium, arsenic, and mercury can accumulate in the body. When this happens, the heavy metals build up in the blood and eventually in the tissue for storage. The liver works to try and detox heavy metals out of the blood and into the large intestine to be excreted.  However heavy metals are difficult to remove from the body without taking specific steps to detox them and can cause countless health issues!

How do you know if heavy metal toxicity may be an issue for you?

Most people these days have some level of heavy metal toxicity within their body as we are exposed to more and more heavy metals and other toxins in our environment. Some people however are more sensitive to heavy metals or have accumulated a larger does of these toxicities over time.

There are so many symptoms that could be caused by heavy metal toxicity. Any chronic unexplained illness could potentially be caused by heavy metal poisoning and so getting tested in the correct way for heavy metals can be a lifesaver for some people who have suffered for years without being able to determine a cause for their symptoms.  The following can all also be potentially caused by heavy metal toxicity:

  •  Fatigue
  •  Chronic issues such as adrenal fatigue
  •  Autoimmune diseases
  •  Brain Fog, depression and anxiety
  •  Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis & Parkinson’s
  •  Insomnia
  •  Digestive distress & weight loss resistance
  •  Aching joints & reproductive issues

When your body is filled with toxins such as heavy metals it is often hard for the body to let go of excess weight leading to weight loss resistance regardless of how well you eat or exercise. Properly detoxing can be the one thing sometimes that helps people who have been holding on to extra weight for years, finally let go of the excess weight.

Heavy metal toxicity affects individuals at the cellular level, and compromises how well cells function within your body.

How can we avoid heavy metal toxicity?

Although it’s difficult to completely avoid heavy metal exposure there are some things that you can do to start to limit your exposure. Common sources of toxic heavy metals include:

  •   Amalgam tooth fillings (if you are considering this option you can’t just go to any dentist, you have to go to one that has been certified in proper removals through the www.iaomt.org, and you should do a heavy metals test first by connecting with us be clicking here).  One of my best friends Dr. Curatola who’s a celebrity dentist on Park Avenue in Manhatten was on Dr. Oz recently. Here’s what he had to say about mercury amalgams.
  •   Fish & other seafood (See image below for fish to avoid)
  •   Personal care products such as body wash, deodorants etc
  •   Cookware
  •   Some immunizations
  •   Drinking water
  •   Some toys
  •   Smog
  •   Pesticides and herbicides in your food as well as some dietary supplements (Shockingly companies like Garden of Life’s raw food supplements have been found to have high levels of lead in them according to a Natural News third party testing study).

I have included below some steps you can take to start to not only avoid as many toxic heavy metals but also strengthen your body to be able to naturally detox more effectively against these toxins. Although there seem to be a lot of steps, start slow and start implementing them over time whether you have any symptoms or not. Prevention is often a lot easier than having to detox large amounts of metal build up in your body.

  • Eat natural, unprocessed, local organic foods where possible. Also make sure you are eating enough healthy fats and add some fermented foods to your diet to improve you gut microbiome balance.
  • Stay away from aluminium and non-stick cookware. Instead go for cast iron, steel, glass, enamel and titanium cookware where possible.
  • Avoid antiperspirant deodorants and cosmetics and personal care products that contain aluminium or mineral powders.
  • Avoid conventional household cleaning products.
  • Before you see a holisitic dentist, make sure you get tested by working with a qualified doctor that knows how to properly remove it from the cells, tissues and organs of your body. There are pre and post amalgam removal protocols you need to follow to minimize mercury exposure that we follow at Designer Health Centers. It’s not enough to get your amalgams out.
  • See a qualified holistic dentist that specialises in amalgam fillings about whether replacing your amalgam fillings is a good option for you. Again, search for a dentist through www.iaomt.org as it’s safer to keep your mercury amalgams in your mouth of the life of the filling than to get it removed improperly.

Also make sure you are not deficient in any essential micronutrients as when you are deficient in essential metals your body uses these more toxic heavy metals in there place leading to a whole host of health issues. For example being deficient in calcium can lead to lead deposits in the bone which can contribute to bone diseases such as osteoporosis. Magnesium can be replaced by aluminium, which can lead to neurochemical changes in the brain.  Also vital nutrients help your body detox heavy metals in the body.

What next if you think heavy metals may be an issue for you?

There are a number of foods which help support your bodies detox pathways and I am going to go through these below. However if you are suffering from any of the symptoms above and feel like heavy metals may be to blame, then the first thing to do is to discuss these with a qualified practitioner and get your heavy metal levels tested. 4.    Chlorella is a great detox supplement as it binds to heavy metals, chemicals and pesticides in your digestive track and helps to eliminate them from your body.

Remember Information is nothing without action

To summarise, heavy metal toxicity is a massive problem for so many of the entrepreneurs and executives I work with every day. So much so that its one of the first things we recommend everyone test for. Properly testing and then detoxing heavy metals can literally be life changing for some people. But you do have to make sure you are following detox protocols for your specific situation, which is why we always recommend you work with a doctor to make sure you are able to heal your body effectively. Some protocols can be harmful if not undertaken correctly. Get in touch with us if you want to discuss your issues specifically or to see if we may be able to help you get to the root cause of your symptoms!
